turned down a Bollywood role after a lusty director demanded she strip off for a sex scene.
The 25-year-old from Mumbai was asked to bare all – even though the director had no intention of including the shots in his finished movie.
Pinto has been one of India’s hottest models. She posed for sexy shoots when she was on the books of top agency Elite Model Management.
However, all the time she was dreaming of acting glory.
Actress Sushmita Sen opens New Delhi painting exhibition
New Delhi, Jan.18 (ANI): Bollywood actress Sushmita Sen inaugurated an exhibition of figurative paintings here on Saturday.
Sen, dressed in exquisite black outfit, inaugurated painters Raghu Vyas’’s solo show titled ”Krishna–Romantic fantasy in peacock forest”.
Various paintings like ”The Divine Saviour”, Angels in a Peacock forest and Krishna in the Lotus pond depict the grandeur and love that flows from Krishna (Hindu god).
Mesmerized by various moods of Krishna, which were depicted in these paintings Sushmita Sen said that she connected with these paintings as a human being.
Preity Zinta reported to be bowled over by Aussie cricketer

‘Munnabhai’ Sanjay Dutt promises ‘Gandhigiri’ to Lucknow audience (Lead)
Lucknow, Jan 17 (IANS) Bollywood star Sanjay Dutt, who has decided to contest the coming Lok Sabha elections as a Samajwadi Party candidate from Lucknow, Saturday visited the city, winning over crowds as he promised to practise ‘Gandhigiri’.
A bearded Dutt, sporting whike kurta-pyjama and black jacket, was flanked by his wife Manyata and party activists at the rally organised by the Samajwadi Party.
‘After the death of my father (actor, Congress leader and central minister Sunil Dutt) I felt lonely and in these times (Samajwadi Party general secretary) Amar Singh supported me like a brother. I would do whatever Amar Singh would ask me to do,’ Dutt told reporters, justifying his decision to join politics.
Dutt Friday night had said in Mumbai that he would contest the polls on the Samajwadi Party ticket, ignoring the disapproval of his sister and Congress MP Priya Dutt.
But the actor thanked Congress general secretary Digvijay Singh for the statement that applying anti-terror laws against him was wrong. Dutt said he was happy to hear this from the Congress after 17 years.
Dhulia had to cut short film shoot in Roorkee cantonment
Mumbai, Jan 18 (IANS) Director had to cut short shooting for his bio-pic ‘Pan Singh Tomar’, starring Irrfan Khan as an armyman, in the army cantonment of Roorkee in Uttar Pradesh as permission from the defence ministry was delayed.
‘That was very unfortunate. We were supposed to shoot in the cantonment for 15 days. We could do so only for two days and then had to leave. The situation in sensitive army areas has changed after 26/11. I think filmmakers would find it harder to shoot films in areas which house army people,’ Dhulia told IANS.
The film is based on the life of a soldier-turned-dacoit Pan Singh Tomar.
‘We did get a copy of the letter (from the defence ministry) to continue shooting in Roorkee’s army cantonment. But the cantonment authorities got it two days late. By then we had left,’ he said.
He said the setback has thrown the project off course as Irrfan Khan will take time to get into his army look all over again.
‘He sports cropped hair and a pencil moustache for the army portions of Tomar’s life. And he refuses to sport a fake one. So now we’ll have to wait for him to find the time to re-grow the proper facial hair,’ Dhulia said.
Now the director is back to shoot his troubled comedy ‘Showman’ with Govinda.
Govinda and Dhulia have sorted out their problems and will now be shooting the entire entertainment gig as part of a reality show in the script called ‘Made For Each Other’ where couples find their ideal dance partners on the floor.
Shilpa Shetty prays for miracle to save Jade Goody
London, Jan 11 (IANS) Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty has revealed that she is praying for former ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ contestant Jade Goody’s recovery.
Goody is suffering form cervical cancer and is undergoing aggressive chemotherapy to treat the condition.
Dailymail.co.uk reports, the reality TV personalities came close following their notorious on-screen rift on the show two years ago, in which Goody was branded a racist by the British public.
“What happened between us in the past means nothing compared to what Jade is going through today. Every night I pray for a miracle to save her life. You wouldn’t wish this on your worst enemy,†she said.
Shilpa, 33, was one of the first to hear of Goody’s condition while she was presenting the second season of the Indian version of the show “Bigg Boss” last year.
‘I was one of the first people to be told and I kept saying over and over to myself, ‘It can’t be true’. I remember calling Jade at Mumbai airport and telling her to hang in there and be strong for her kids,’ revealed Shilpa, who also confessed that the pair could not control themselves and cried over the phone.
Shilpa, who was speaking from Chennai also revealed that Goody, 27, has maintained her sense of humour about the situation, particularly with her sons Bobby, five, and four-year-old Freddie.
‘I heard Jade joked to her sons that her hair loss was caused by using the wrong shampoo, so at least she hasn’t lost her sense of humour,’ she said.
The ‘Phir Milenge’ actress, who has promised to go to Britain in order to support Goody, was also serious in her admiration towards the latter.
‘How she has handled herself has been nothing short of amazing. Being a working mother of two small children is a hard enough job on its own without having to battle such a serious illness at the same time,’ she said.
Goody has been given a 50 percent chance of survival following a hysterectomy in September last year and is undergoing a course of chemotherapy, radiotherapy and blood transfusions in Britain.
UAE bans ‘God Tussi Great Ho’
Dubai: Authorities in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have ordered the Salman Khan-starrer Bollywood film ‘God Tussi Great Ho’ off screens in this Gulf nation following complaints that it violated Islamic teachings.
The National Media Council ordered that the movie, released in India and here Friday, not be screened in the UAE after receiving scores of complaints from viewers, the Gulf News reported.
‘Maan Gaye Mughall-E-Azam’ a different comedy, says director
New Delhi, Aug 21: Watch my film because it’s different, says writer-director Sanjay Chhel of his latest offering ‘Maan Gaye Mughall-E-Azam’ starring Mallika Sherawat and Rahul Bose that releases Friday.
‘I am urging people to watch my film because the idea and its treatment is very fresh. It is a very out-of-the-box comedy,’ Chhel told IANS over phone from Mumbai.He added: ‘If people don’t watch and encourage such films, filmmakers will use the same old formulas of NRI films and ‘boy-meets-girl’ kind of scripts.’
